Detect
Initial detection of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) currently relies on short screens such as the mini-mental status exam and the Clock test, but is often not performed due to lack of time and effort. Also, there is poor clinical data to show a correlation between the current screening methods and MCI. DETECT offers a solution to this screening need. When used as a standard of care for all elderly patients, physicians can monitor the cognitive performance of their aging patients and be alerted at the earliest signs of cognitive decline. Once these declines begin, further testing can evaluate a complete diagnosis and drug regimens that are most effective when treated early can begin.
