Diagnose
Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) is often undiagnosed until symptoms are reported by family members and a physician completes brief cognitive screens. Many symptoms are also misrepresented as normal aging abnormalities or other mental diseases. Once a physician conducts a mental exam and any cognitive screening including DETECT, he may diagnose MCI or Alzheimer’s or refer to a specialist such as a neurologist or neuropsychologist for more in-depth testing.
